Just Another Manic Maui Monday

Maui day one was spent mostly on the beach...again, my legs are somewhat sunburned from inaccurately putting on sunscreen :/. The Chernicks are the most amazing hosts and I can't wait for 9 more days in paradise. I am extemely blessed!

Bonnie Brae Ice cream

Enjoyed some delicious cinnamon ice cream the other day in the cute neighborhood of Bonnie Brae in Denver. Yummy! and Yes, they make it there. After a great weekend in Vail, my ski season in Colorado is officially over. I think I got in about 23 ski days! Not too chabby for a Texan :). Ended the season enjoying Wyclef Jean at a free concert in Vail...never realized how much I enjoy Wyclef. Tim and Mike, two friends in CO, both participated in Pond Skimming on Sunday afternoon...neither made it across, but both made great attempts to skim across a pond of water after a large jump on skis or snowboards. It was very exciting to know contestant! Way to go guys!

Somethings Stinky...

My college pal, Stinky aka Erin, came to visit this past weekend. Stinks lives in San Diego and hasn't visited me once in Texas since college. But after 3 months in Colorado, she visits :). She thinks Texas is just too hot! Anywho, we had a great weekend. We attempted to ski Vail on Friday, but ended up just getting drinks and very sun burned due to dicey snow conditions (I made the pics black and white to cover up how red I am). Enjoyed drinks at Wash Park Tavern and ate yummy oysters at Jax in Boulder...seriously the best oysters I have ever put in my mouth (see above pic). Happy Birthday Pammy!

My roomie, Pam, here in Denver celebrated her 29th birthday last weekend (I'm a bit behind on my postings). She wanted to learn to two-step, so we went to a country bar near our house called Stampede. The dance floor was an oval with a bar in the middle which I've never seen. Everyone danced around in a circle. Wow, I have no rhythm! We even took a free lesson. I felt horrible for my partner who had a little more rhythm than me :/. We also ate at Texas Roadhouse to maintain the theme....the whole night reminded me of Texas. Happy Birthday Pam!

Motet

We saw Motet on Thurs at the Fox in Boulder. It was a lot of fun and I LOVE the amount of horn players they had in the band..5 to be exact. I'm told that Motet is known to cover artists such as Madona, Talking Heads, and Micheal J...all a few of my favorites. No covers on Thurs, just good ole Motet. Great show! Congratulations to Joy and Chip!

I'm very happy to announce that my dear friends, Joy and Chip, got engaged this weekend! Joy met Chip in her running group and the rest is history :)! We all ran the Chicago Marathon this past October and after experiencing 26.2 miles of pain with the two of them, I knew they were meant to be. I'm so happy for them. Way to go Chipper and congrats Joy!
