Home

I came back to Ft. Worth to visit Deen's first photography showing and my birthday. Deener did an amazing job and sold every photo!!! She's kind of a big deal :) Great times with my very best friends. If you haven't already heard the news, I've decided to make the move to Denver...big decision!! I will miss Ft. Worth sooo much, but the mountains have been calling me for many years. I am home for the month of May to pack up. I thankfully have rented out my home and found a nice place in Denver. Everyone put out good vibes for the job hunt! I have gotten great reviews from the blog posts, so will continue to blog as long as I continue to hear people are checking it out. I may make shift from travel news to something else...haven't decided yet. Thanks for everyone's support!!!

Goofy Foot Surf School

Graduation!!!

Graduation Post Party
Anne and I attempted to surf yesterday morning. It was so fun!! We both got up on the surfboard almost every attempt. We had a great instructor who taught us the basics...it was gnarly..that's surf terminology :).

Sunset Cruise

Thursday night we went on a Sunset Cruise with the company Trilogy...I highly recommend Trilogy's activities over other aquatic companies if you are heading to Maui anytime in the near future. Great pupus (appetizers in Hawaii), drinks, sunset, and staff. Here Anne and I are relaxing on the boat...we had a tough day...The highlight was a humpback whale sighting. They were jumping in the ocean about 400 ft away from us!! It is rare to see them at this time of year because they have usually migrated to Alaska. I was very excited! We then enjoyed dinner at Leilani's ocean side. I had a great salad and Hawaiian bean soup. Desert was the infamous Kimo's Hula pie which is ice cream, fudge, cookie crumb crust, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, and all around deliciousness. We split it b/w 4 people which shows you that it is quite large.

General Store

Enjoyed lunch at the Honolua store the other day...it's a locals hangout :). It's a market with a deli in the back..super cute. Anywho, I look a little rough in this picture because we had just completed a 7 mile hike and stopped for a quick bite before beach time. Anne out ordered me with a delicious salad. I tried the hamburger which was good, but not the best. I am losing track of time here and the other day said "Tomorrow's Friday? What happened to Thursday??" Apparently that's what happens on the islands :).

Just Another Manic Maui Monday

Maui day one was spent mostly on the beach...again, my legs are somewhat sunburned from inaccurately putting on sunscreen :/. The Chernicks are the most amazing hosts and I can't wait for 9 more days in paradise. I am extemely blessed!

Bonnie Brae Ice cream

Enjoyed some delicious cinnamon ice cream the other day in the cute neighborhood of Bonnie Brae in Denver. Yummy! and Yes, they make it there. Photography credits go to Anne :) Hope to take Hadley and Jane Jane here soon! I think that is what is called a subliminal message...I mean, I'm no psychologist...oh wait. Happy Saturday!

Vail Closing Weekend

Pond Skimming Arena

What usually happens at a pond skimming attempt...

Mike after his attempt....

Tim, the green gorilla
After a great weekend in Vail, my ski season in Colorado is officially over. I think I got in about 23 ski days! Not too chabby for a Texan :). Ended the season enjoying Wyclef Jean at a free concert in Vail...never realized how much I enjoy Wyclef. Tim and Mike, two friends in CO, both participated in Pond Skimming on Sunday afternoon...neither made it across, but both made great attempts to skim across a pond of water after a large jump on skis or snowboards. It was very exciting to know contestant! Way to go guys!
Thanks for the comments! I do still have followers :). My next posts will be in Hawaii while Anne and I visit her parents. Yeah! Happy Monday everyone!

Somethings Stinky...

My college pal, Stinky aka Erin, came to visit this past weekend. Stinks lives in San Diego and hasn't visited me once in Texas since college. But after 3 months in Colorado, she visits :). She thinks Texas is just too hot! Anywho, we had a great weekend. We attempted to ski Vail on Friday, but ended up just getting drinks and very sun burned due to dicey snow conditions (I made the pics black and white to cover up how red I am). Enjoyed drinks at Wash Park Tavern and ate yummy oysters at Jax in Boulder...seriously the best oysters I have ever put in my mouth (see above pic). Thanks for visiting Stinks and happy hump day to everyone...does anyone still read my blog. Please comment ;)

Happy Birthday Pammy!

My roomie, Pam, here in Denver celebrated her 29th birthday last weekend (I'm a bit behind on my postings). She wanted to learn to two-step, so we went to a country bar near our house called Stampede. The dance floor was an oval with a bar in the middle which I've never seen. Everyone danced around in a circle. Wow, I have no rhythm! We even took a free lesson. I felt horrible for my partner who had a little more rhythm than me :/. We also ate at Texas Roadhouse to maintain the theme....the whole night reminded me of Texas. Happy Birthday Pam!

Motet

We saw Motet on Thurs at the Fox in Boulder. It was a lot of fun and I LOVE the amount of horn players they had in the band..5 to be exact. I'm told that Motet is known to cover artists such as Madona, Talking Heads, and Micheal J...all a few of my favorites. No covers on Thurs, just good ole Motet. Great show! Hope everyone has a great week!

Congratulations to Joy and Chip!

I'm very happy to announce that my dear friends, Joy and Chip, got engaged this weekend! Joy met Chip in her running group and the rest is history :)! We all ran the Chicago Marathon this past October and after experiencing 26.2 miles of pain with the two of them, I knew they were meant to be. I'm so happy for them. Way to go Chipper and congrats Joy!
